Breath taking Yosemite video…

(Source: vimeo.com)

Tonight I took these pictures, 2 last ones is the result of me stacking Star trails (3 minutes total exposure time). I was so frustrated with my camera remote: it was stubborn and not cooperative! I will find it’s manual and reprogram it again!!!

I really wanted to do star trails, but it was not enough time for me.. I got too tired and had to go home before I did something really stupid.

Anyway, attached images are the result of my long night.

I’m tired of being not able to get out and shoot. I need a company!!! I don’t like to go alone…  So me and my friend Miri started a Meetup group where people who knows how to use their camera can get together (without additional fee) and chose where to go and what to shoot. Join us!! http://www.meetup.com/Los-Gatos-Photography-Fun/

Tokyo moment..

I took this picture from Tokyo Tower. I noticed that sun is on top of the cloud. I prepared to shoot HDR but then remembered that i didn’t bring my tripod.. So I used a window glass and a column as a steady part. I was leaning on both and literally didn’t breath to avoid shaking and moving. I combined 3 images with Photomatix Pro to get what you see.

Ladybugs in Oakland Redwood park.

Each year from November through February, thousands if not millions of lady bugs converge to Redwood Regional Park in Oakland, surfing the right winds to exactly the spot their folks converged to the previous years.

To find this cute creatures you need to go for a hike at Redwood Regional Park in California.

You should start at Skyline Gate your 3-mile round trip. Walk to the junction of Stream Trail and Prince Trail. I found first ladybug colonies just before Eucalyptus Trail. It was amazing to see so many of them at the same time! In 5 minutes I was covered with red bugs: they where on my camera, jacket, hair.. It was an amazing experience!

To take pictures I used my Nikon D700 with Nikkor macro lens + tripod. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay long, so I had only few pictures taken.

This is what I got on December 10th 2011 in San Francisco Lunar Eclipse…
